Abstract
Abstract
There is a rapid technological development in today's time. Students must have high skill set like problem solving, ability to communicate with others effectively, ability to adapt to new technology quickly etc. These skills cannot be learned by traditional classroom teaching techniques. Hence effective education systems like Outcome Based Education (OBE) and competency based education (CBE) must be designed to meet these requirements.
OBE is achieved by effective implementation of Course Outcomes (COs), Program Outcomes (POS) and Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) in students learning curriculum.
Competency-based learning or curriculum primarily focuses on the student’s demonstration of their desired learning outcomes. Competencies consist of components that are trainable (knowledge, skills) and components that are more difficult to alter (attitudes, believes).
This review paper describes in detail the concept of program outcomes and competencies in health education system.

Key words: Keywords: Program outcomes,competencies,education,objectives.
